Maulud - Sambut Hari Lahir atau Hari Wafat ?

Bismillah.

Everybody wants the Truth, but it seems not everybody can handle the Truth, especially if one is used to believe that 12 RabiulAwal is the date of Birth of Nabi yang mulia Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam.

When one is presented with Hadith Sahih showing that is actually the date of Wafat,  and one is actually celebrating the day of Wafat  Nabi yang mulia Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam,

then how best to swallow your pride,  especially if your ego is bruised,  if your self-interest is affected,  or if changing your belief and stance would cause you to step on your bosses'  toes ?

I think ustadz Firdaus Yahya answer below is a classic DIVERSION from the topic at hand,  typical of one in a state of denial.

atschool.eduweb.co.uk/sbs777/vital/xmas.html  = If the Christians defiantly celebrate the birth of the Pagan Sun God on 25th Dec and promote it as the birth of Christ, what difference is it with our  'Islamic leaders'  who are defiant to uphold a Maulid tradition based on conjecture in the name of Islam ?

Thus, it is incumbent upon the ummah to exercise due diligence in order NOT to be dragged into promoting such unIslamic beliefs and practices pioneered by the Syiahs and Sufis who are the hard-core proponents of  Bid'ah, Sufi, Syirik, Syi'ah, Ta'asub, Firqah-Firqah, Adat-Adat, Akal-Akal and Taklid Buta rituals in place of the Sunnah .............Allahul Musta'an.

Wa'alaikum salam wr wb
I'm sorry I cannot accede to your request. There is already enough discussion about this issue in Asatizah Net. There are other more pertinent issues to be discussed. These differences in reciting the Maulid, and the subsequent birth dates of our beloved Prophet, will remain forever. It shall never be resolved. It has been discussed by the giants of Muslim scholars and will continue to be discussed by future giants. You and I are not giants of Muslim scholars. We are mere droplets. Focus our energy to more important issues which affect our community. Can we be happy when more and more young Muslims have lost the Islamic spirit? Who registered for the first gay marriage in UK? Malay Singaporean. And we have the group voguelicious gaining national popularity. Who are the members? Malay Muslim transgender boys. Who has the highest number of abortions outside marriage? Malay Muslims. And can you tell me the rate of Quranic illiteracy among our community?
Yes, you may not agree that we focus our energy to these more important issues. And yes, you may want to continue in this unending debacles of maulid, and then maybe nisfu Syaaban, and then maybe Terawih 20 or 10 rakaat, Qunut during Fajr prayers, placing hand on chest or stomach, and a myriad of other contentious issues which you have no qualification to delve into.
It is your right. For ultimately you'll be answerable in front of Allah yourself. For Allah says in the Quran: Do not go into issues that you do not have knowledge in.
But if you are like me and other like-minded asatizah who are worried with the state of the ummah right now, you will focus your energy in saving as many young Muslims as possible, and instill in them the spirit of Islam. What little effort we can do, we try to do.
The Prostestants and Catholics have many disagreements. But that never distracts them from helping other Christians and 'helping' other non-Christians.
Wassalam.
Firdaus

Subject: Ikut Akhlak Nabi - BH 6 March, dan Tarikh Wafat Nabi

Assalamu'alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh ustadz Firdaus Yahya.

2. Even though I'm not a champion in Arabic language, I believe this sahih info from TARIKH TABARI (310H) - see attached pencilled arrow - is translated as " She (Aisyah r.a) said, 'The death of  him (Nabi Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) was on the 12th night of Rabiul Awal on the tenth year of Hijrah...".    On the other hand, nobody knows or recorded the date of birth of Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam.  Furthermore, the Hijrah calendar was only started  ~13 years after Nabi was exalted as Rasullullah.

3. Anyway, being an expert in Arabic language is no big deal, because there was once in 1981, the Israeli fighter-pilots were given permission by the Iraqi authorities to penetrate into Iraqi territory with much ease before the Israeli  F-16s  annihilate Saddam's nuclear facilities. How did the Israeli fighter-pilots did it ?  Simply by speaking fluent Arabic, pretending to be Saudi pilots seeking permission to pass through Iraqi airspace. By the time the Iraqis realise it, the Israeli jets are long gone.

4. That incident should remind Muslims of how naive and gullible we can be, by being unwary hosts to parasites who are masters in disguise, and destroying Islam from within, especially when we are guided in matters of religion not by the understanding and practices of the sahabat and those who follow them as espoused in Surah 3:31, 4:65, 5;48, 9:100, 24:63, 59:7, but are guided by anyone or anything that suits our desires (Surah 45:23) more than anything else.  Is it possible, what we are blatantly misguided about  are originated by those who are long gone ?

5. Hopefully, this sahih info about 12hb Rabiul Awal as date of  DEATH can improve our mindset towards proving our love for Rasulullah Sallallhu 'Alaihi Wasallam.

7. If anyone still persist to sambut Maulud even though there is no dalil to proof that 12hb Rabiul Awal is date of birth, then it is feared that they are influenced by the culture of those (long gone) bfore they embraced Islam, or are infected by the disease of kaum Syi'ah who are ghuluw to Ali r.a,  or the disease of kaum Nasara who are ghuluw to 'Isa a.s, Na'uzubillah.

8. Some may still regard this matter trivial and prefer to sweep the dust (or carcass?) under the carpet, while many others regard this matter crucial which require our respected astizahs to comment, but to brush it off as 'masaalah khilaf' is quite unbecoming of any asatizah, because 'mandi safar' will still be practised today and accepted as  'masaalah khilaf ' if they see our asatizahs still promoting it.

Wallahu A'lam

Sekian. Terima Kasih.

Yang Benar,
Nordin Amat

  1. Is Firdaus Yahya one senior ustaz or another social worker ?

He is more concern about the social welfare of Muslims ?

But he is not concern if Muslims celebrate the date of death of Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam ?

Is that " giants of Muslim scholars " he was talking about, or phantom Muslim scholars ?

Is he trying to pull a fast one ?

  3. Yes,our Muslims society are plagued with many deseases or "gejala social" . WHY!!!

Bcos we have deviated away from Al-Quran & true Sunnah. "halal & haram" is a taboo. We cant write nor talk about it.If our youngsters are not enlightened with these hukum2 but rather they are being "entertained" with all kinds of creative "da'wah" like staging islamic play, so called Islamic nashid, Islamic fashion, Islamic novel, & even Bid'ah is considered "good" .. how else can they learn..about true Islamic values...

We have been "fooled" by the Govt into thinking that if we teach our chd'n true Islamic values, they may turn into radical Muslims, so much so islamic values has diluted
